It's definitely time for an update ..... :)

Joshua Scott Hughes was born Tuesday, March 15 at 12:35 pm. What a joy he is, and we're so blessed as a family of four!

Snow!

We're enjoying a snow day today. Here's Madelynn all bundled up, not so sure she likes the white stuff.

But, she did really like venturing out for a walk as long as I was holding her! :) The snow sure is pretty!

And, here's a 20 week baby bump picture. We had our ultrasound last week, and it's a boy! :)

Highlights!

Once again, I'm a couple months behind! Here are a few highlights.....

Madelynn went on her first plane ride (did pretty well, really!) to Southern California

where we went to the San Diego Zoo with Grandpa and Grandma
and enjoyed the beach!!!

In late August Madelynn enjoyed her first camping trip!

Of course, the big one-year party was lots of fun! (Although she was right at the beginning of being pretty sick ......)

Have I ever mentioned that she LOVES monkeys?!

And, of course, the 12-month picture with her bear.

Fun with a little friend ...

Of course in September we did the Puyallup Fair. Grandma even joined us!

And, a couple weeks ago we enjoyed the Pumpkin Patch.

Madelynn has mastered so many skills ... going down the stairs is one of them!

Our baby is definitely growing up. We've enjoyed each moment so much! Right now we're amazed by how much she understands and can say. A few favorite words ... Daddy, Mama (finally!!), OUTSIDE!, up, dowww (down), mo (more), bootow (moo cow), cracker, shoe, ampa (Grandpa), eyes, touch, ba (ball), aw done (all done), Shh (Shumi, my parents' dog), chh (cheese .. or sometimes Charity!), bu (butterfly or belly button), poon (spoon), Bible, ark (as in Noah and the ark), ca (car), shushine (sunshine), and a fun recent one .... i ceam cone (ice cream cone!).

She loves going outside, enjoys reading a book, will back her way up onto your lap with a book if you sit on the floor, dances to music, gets very frustrated when she can't do something, is still very curious and serious when something is new, loves to lay on the rugs in front of the door, likes to pull out all her big stuffed animals and then put them all back, closes drawers when they're open and shuts doors, has 9 teeth, loves fruit, signs please when we ask her to say please, has started to enjoy the nursery, and so much more!

And, in April she's going to be a big sister! Here I am 16 weeks pregnant! :) Finally starting to feel a little better!

A Little Catching Up

We are having such a fun summer! It feels like Madelynn grows and learns something new every day. She is such a character! It's been awhile since I've posted, so here are a few pictures from the past several weeks.

A Few Stats

Our monkey is tall! She's 29 inches long and in the 90th percentile! :) Daddy is also loving hearing "dadada" and swinging her around as she giggles like crazy. Madelynn loves playing peek-a-boo, and is "cruising" along and between pieces of furniture. We love you, sweetheart!

Nine Months

I know I say this every time, but I just can't believe how time is flying by. My baby is 3/4 of a year old (sorry ... math teacher)!! She's just so fun these days. We are so blessed!!!

It's getting a little hard to get the monthly picture with Madelynn on the move! We're having to be a little more creative.
