Are you ready??

The countdown is on (baby Michard is due in less than 6 weeks) and the question of the hour (aside from "Are you having a boy or a girl?") is "Well, are you ready?" My response ... Sure, why not!?! :)

Here is an updated picture of the nursery. Many special people are represented by the items in the room!

Since we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl (the answer to the other question!), we've decorated with primary colors and numbers and letters.
The little things ... Hard to imagine such a little one to fit into these little clothes. I think it's time to get all those tags cut off and the clothes washed! Thanks, Elise, for ALL the hangers!!

This one is for Megan!!

Celebrating 4 Years of Marriage

This past weekend we celebrated our 4th anniversary. We had a very nice evening walking along Redondo Beach (also happens to be where we walked on our first date over 6 years ago!) and ate a delicious dinner at Salty's (thank you to a dear student and her parents for a generous gift card)!!

Doing the Tourist Thing in Seattle

This past weekend my mom's cousins from Kansas came for a visit. On Friday we went to Seattle to see the sights. It was a great day! We walked around Pike Place and the waterfront then did a Locks tour seeing Seattle from the water. It was great! Thanks, Dolores and Becky, for coming for a visit!! :)

More Baby Shower

My students also made a little advice book .... They are pretty insightful!

"My parents brought me home for the first time and I was crying and crying. They changed my diapers and gave me toys adn they didn't know what was wrong. They forgot to feed me! Don't forget to feed your baby!"

"A binky is your best friend. :)"

"Keep your child away from windows."

"Make a full picture album for every year until they're 12."

"Make sure your baby does not fall out of the crib! I fell out of mine when I was young. :("

"If your child ever says 'nothing' it always means there's something."

"Take lots of pictures with him/her. They grow SO fast. There are never too many pictures with digital!"

"Spoil your baby rotten .. but not too much!"

"If you have a boy, I STRONGLY suggest wearing a face mask when you change diapers!"

"Remember, otter pops keep the kids busy and happy!"

"Always hire good babysitters (hint, hint). Always make sure your baby knows how much you love them. Make sure they get to see their grandparents a lot!"

"Make sure your kid knows how much you adore them :) !"

"You should speak some Spanish around your baby in order to introduce him/her to the language and not just English. Also, spoil your baby with LOTS of love :) and teach him/her to love Jesus!"

They're pretty smart, aren't they?! :)

A Baby Shower!!!

Yesterday we had a goofy schedule at school which meant the only class students went to was 4th period. My 4th period class took advantage of the goofy day and planned a surprise baby shower ... complete with baby scattergories, guessing the string size that would fit around my tummy, pink and blue cupcakes, M&M cookies, sweet presents, and more! Thanks, 4th period!!!

Thanks, Tamara, for planning the festivities!! :)

Students brought food for everyone!

Jake won the string game. He wrapped the string around his head one and a half times, and it was exactly the right size!!

Sweet presents! :)
